Terms of use
Last updated 24 September 2026.
These terms apply whenever you use The Story School, whether you are reading the public pages or taking the training with an account. By creating an account you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, email help@projectscotland.info.
Who provides the school
The Story School is provided by Project Scotland. It is part of The Story churches network, and its aim is to serve our churches and partners. It is free, and you can reach us at help@projectscotland.info.
Who can have an account
You must be 16 or over. If you belong to a church in the network, your leader can invite you. Anyone else may ask to join: we look at each request by hand, and we may approve or refuse it at our discretion. We tell you by email either way.
Your account
- One account per person. Please do not share your login with anyone.
- Keep your details accurate, including your email address, so that our messages reach you.
- Keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else has used your account, reset your password and tell us.
Using the school fairly
- Do not try to get round the order in which classes open, for example by faking video progress or scripting the quiz.
- Do not copy the site in bulk, scrape it, or reach it with automated tools.
- Do not try to break or overload the school, or to reach any part of it that is not yours.
The teaching material
The videos, class text, quizzes and resources belong to us or to the people who made them for us. You may use them for your own training and with your own church or group: watch together, print a resource for your group, talk the questions over.
You may not download, re-upload, republish or pass on the videos, and you may not sell any of the material or use it in anything you sell.
What you give us
If you upload a profile picture, you confirm that you have the right to use it, and you allow us to show it inside the school. We will remove any picture that is offensive or unlawful. Messages you send us are read by the team and used only to reply to you.
If your access is removed
A church leader can remove a member from their church, and an administrator can refuse or withdraw access to any account, for example when these terms are broken. If you are removed from a church, your account and your progress are kept, and your access waits for an administrator to approve it again.
What we cannot promise
We provide the school free of charge and as it is. We cannot promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes, and we may change, add or withdraw courses and classes.
Teaching, not professional advice
The teaching reflects the beliefs of Project Scotland and Glasgow Story Church. It is Christian teaching, not professional advice: nothing here is pastoral care for your particular situation, or medical, financial or legal advice. If you need help, talk to your church leader or contact us. If someone is in danger, call 999.
Our liability
Because the school is free, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using it or from being unable to use it, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Closing your account
You can stop using the school at any time. To close your account, email help@projectscotland.info from the address you signed up with. We will delete your account and your training record, as the privacy policy explains.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we change the date at the top. If a change matters, we will email everyone with an account before it takes effect. If you carry on using the school after that, the new terms apply to you.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts decide any dispute about them.
